Scapular Control

Scapular Control If I were to choose one thing that I would want a client to really understand when it comes to body awareness its....scapular control. It is EVERYTHING to all body weight, pulling, and pressing movements . It also tends to get impinged and tight with poor motor control over time. Tight upper traps tend to be a common complaint. With a combination of strengthening, mobility, stability, and proper motor control it can improve significantly, but first you should understand what the shoulder blades do. 1.) Protraction: Shoulder blades move away from each other 2.) Retraction: Shoulder blades move toward each other 3.) Elevation: Shoulder blades move upward 4.) Depression: Shoulder blades move downward 5.) Upward Rotation: Shoulder blades move upward along rib cage. Want to see more shoulder stuff? Comment below! Side note: Yes, I know have some tightness going on and that one moves better than the other. Its being addressed currently.
