Training Tips

I want to go over the difference in training for those two. Maybe why you want to train them separately or for what instance you might want to combine the two approaches for more of a “power building” approach.
.
If you train for strength will you build muscles? Yes.
If you train for hypertrophy will you get strong? Also, yes!
Can you do both? Yes
Should I train them separately? It depends.
Confused much?

When I first started lifting I wanted to be strong as fuck and look like I lifted (increase muscle size). I started with Crossfit in 2009 for a year and I was still hella skinny. After, I did powerlifting and olympic lifting competitively for many years. My notable lifts were squatting 374 #’s and deadlifting 395 #’s yet I didnt even LOOK like I lifted until my last hear of powerlifting. It wasn’t until I took on more of a body building type of approach and add in more volume and frequency to my training with an emphasis of being really being in tuned to the “mind-muscle-connection” where I was really able to put on muscle.
.
.
Overall, it’s important to follow a program that gives you results while you having fun with the process which is why I enjoy hybrid approaches vs strict protocols in programing. When you aren’t training for specificity in mind it ‘MAY’ take longer to reach your goal, but at the same time who cares as long as you enjoy all that you do? The more you enjoy the process, the longer you will stick with it.

Also, SUPER excited to announce that my developer is almost done creating a macro and calorie calculator for you guys! Should be done in a few days! Made purely for those training strength/muscle building and cutting fat so you can take the guess work of what your numbers should be. Revolves around protein being priority and around current research. Calculator version will be updated as research is updated!
